Monday, 2nd December 2024 is a special day for the Students and the Staff of our Thai Language and Special Needs Holy Redeemer School in the city of Bangkok. We had a visit from Fr Joseph Ivel Mendanha, C.Ss.R., General Consultor. Fr Ivel participated in the School Assembly in the morning and gave a simple message to the students and staff and then went around the school led by the School Manager, Rev Brother Montri, C.Ss.R.
This Redemptorist School caters to about 380 Students with education from Nursery to Grade 12 in the Thai Language as well as it caters to 40 special needs students. The School has children from a variety of religious and ethnic, social and national backgrounds with Thais, Chinese, Filipinos, Indians, Nepalis, South Africans, and Pakistanis among the students. The school is run very efficiently by two Redemptorists confreres, Bro Montri, C.Ss.R. and Fr Joseph Apisit C.Ss.R. and is a full-time outreach offering good education with Human Values for the students. The parents of these children are very happy and joyful to send their students to our Redemptorist Holy Redeemer School as they are assured of a good education with religious and human values imparted to the children in the very heart of the city of Bangkok catering to those who would otherwise be unable to afford private schools which are very expensive.
Fr Ivel stressed the value of good human education and that every child and student is called to experience the friendship of God who is close to us always through our life of hard work, honesty and sincerity, discipline and play, sport and cultural activities but most of all through our daily life of joy and happiness, friendship and laughter.
Fr Ivel congratulated the Management and staff for their commitment to teaching the children and he urged the children to continue joyfully being beacons of light in our world today.
