With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Father Raphael Gallagher, Redemptorist missionary, member of the Dublin Province, and professor emeritus of the Alphonsian Academy.
We remember Father Raphael’s influence on our Church, especially in his study of Moral Theology, his writings and the many people he influenced by his teaching, kindness and gentleness. So wrote the confreres of Ireland, sharing the announcement of his death.
Father Raphael lived his last years in the Redemptorist community at St. Joseph’s Monastery in Dundalk, Ireland. He died on 3 December 2024 at the age of 81. The date of the funeral has not yet been announced.
Grant him, o Lord, eternal rest.
