The Vice Province of Majella held its Assembly from December 11-15, 2024, at Pilar, Goa, India. The Assembly was graced by the presence of Fr Yoakim Ndelo (Kimy), Coordinator of the Asia Oceania Conference, and Fr Edward Joseph, Provincial of the Province of Bangalore.
The Assembly began with a half-day recollection led by Fr Edward Joseph, followed by the reading of the Vice Province’s report by Fr Henry Fernandes, Vice Provincial of Majella. Clarifications and discussions ensued.
The Statutes of the Vice Province were revised by the Statute Drafting Committee. At the Assembly, the confreres went through each of the Statutes and after some clarifications and deliberations the Statutes were voted on and they were unanimously passed by the Assembly. Now they are submitted to the Generalate for the approval.
At the close of the Assembly, we had organized the celebration of the Silver Jubilee of our Unit. Established as a Region (Region of Mumbai) of the Province of Bangalore on April 14, 1999, we became the Vice Province of Majella on October 16, 2011. The Jubilee was an occasion for us to thank God for the 25 years of Grace wherein we had seen growth in terms of vocations, foundations, and ministry. Three of our confreres also celebrated their Golden and Silver Jubilees of their Ordinations and Professions. The Celebrations concluded with a dinner.
