La famiglia la felicità 2024
Since the Congregation is celebrating the year 2024 as the Year of Formation, we, the Santhome Minor Seminary of the Liguori Province of Kerala decided to add more colours to the celebration. The community invited the beloved parents and siblings of the formees to be part of this celebration. Thus, the entire family arrived on 30th November 2024 for this family day celebration. It was a time of grace and blessings for each of us to witness such a heart touching event where we all prayed together and had our meal together and we celebrated the day together. The gathering was titled as La famiglia la felicità 2024, which means “The Happy Family.” The program began with Solomon Holy Qurbana which was presided by Fr. Shiju Mullasseril, the vicar provincial, Fr. Shijo Meppilly (OPC member for formation) and Fr. Alex Theruvankunnel (Rector and Director of the students) were the concelebrants.
Fr. Shijo Meppilly, During the homily, thanked the parents for gifting their children to the congregation and appreciated their wholehearted support for the formation. He also explained to them the importance of initial formation. After the mass, the formees put up a cultural program. The Vicar Provincial, in his felicitation speech, conveyed the regards of the Provincial superior, Fr. Poly Kannampuzha, who was not present, to the parents and he also congratulated the formators for their total commitment and dedication towards the Formation. The parents also expressed their appreciation for the genuine efforts and dedication of the community fathers in forming their children. it was, indeed, a memorable day.
