For the 18th time, on the 3rd Sunday of Advent, December 15, the “Mission Fair with Angels” was held, organized by the Redemptorist Association of Friends of the Mission. Like every year, there was no shortage of people ready to support the work of the missions and spend time in a unique atmosphere. The motto of our Christmas market in support of the missionary work of the Redemptorist Congregation was: “We all are missionaries.”
This year, two fairs were held: one in Tuchów and the other in Krakow, at our Redemptorist Major Seminary. From the early hours of the morning, the square was filled with stalls offering handicrafts, delicacies and Christmas decorations. The focus was on products prepared by volunteers and local communities, the proceeds of which will go towards the construction of a church in Minsk, Belarus, where the Redemptorists of the Warsaw Province are present.
The Missionary Fair with Angels is an event organized by the Redemptorist Association of Friends of the Mission, the Redemptorist Major Seminary and the local parishes of Tuchow and Krakow.
It all started modestly, 18 years ago, with a small stall at the sanctuary in Tuchów. Today the initiative has grown and is now an established event, not only in Tuchów, where the fair is part of the city and neighborhood calendar, but also in Krakow, where a new Advent tradition is taking hold.
In Krakow, we hosted Fr. Wiktor Bohan CSsR, a missionary from Grodno (Belarus), who previously served in the parish of Minsk for several years. During the meeting, he spoke to us about the reality of work in Belarus and the needs of the population, especially the urgency of building a new church. In the basilica in Tuchów, the homily was given by Fr. Artur Pruś CSsR, a missionary who served in Russia for several years.
We thank all the organizers, volunteers and donors who supported the Missionary Fair with Angels with the work of their hands, with prayers or with financial contributions.
