On 1st January 2025, the Liguori Province of India inaugurated the Alphonsian Mobile Palliative and Home Care Unit at Karavaloor, marking a significant achievement in its social ministry. The event began with a blessing of the Palliative Office by Fr. Poly Kannampuzha, the Provincial Superior, followed by an official inauguration by Sri. P S Supal, MLA of Punalur, in the presence of local government officials, Panchayat members, and community representatives.
This initiative responds to the growing socio-cultural challenges in Kerala, particularly the rise in the elderly population. Recognizing the urgent need for specialized care, we are committed to addressing these needs through services like elderly care, counselling, and palliative home care. The Alphonsian Mobile Unit aims to bring comfort, dignity, and support to those most in need, in line with our charism of offering redemption and compassion to the marginalized.
Through this new outreach, we strive to alleviate the suffering of the elderly and those requiring palliative care, ensuring they are not forgotten but cared for with love and respect.
