ICONO magazine was founded in 1899 by the first Redemptorists who arrived in Spain in order to promote devotion to the Icon of Perpetual Help and to Saint Alphonsus. After 125 years, it is an upgraded and consolidated magazine that has made progress and has grown and expanded greatly thanks to popular missions. There was still one step to take, and it was already in demand by subscribers and readers… to move from a printed edition to a digital edition that would make it much more easily accessible and cheaper today.
Taking this step was a challenge that the Director, Father Francisco Caballero, and I took on. Once we had overcome the challenge, with a digital magazine that is easily accessible on the website www.revistaicono.org, we offer the entire Redemptorist Congregation and our consecrated sisters and lay associates a magazine in Spanish with a wide and varied content: current events, formation in the faith, opinion, reflection (sections on education, psychology, culture), spirituality and, of course, devotion to Mary and especially to our Mother of Perpetual Help. Redemptorist missionaries and lay people from our communities work together on this beautiful, shared mission.
We invite you to take advantage of and enjoy this resource in Spanish for your communities and to continue doing missionary work united with the patron saint of our missions, Our Lady of Perpetual Help. We are leaving you a QR code that facilitates online access to subscribe to the magazine. The digital subscription rate is €15 for the whole year, for the 10 magazines that we publish.
