The Oblate Sisters of the Most Holy Redeemer of Angola, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay held their V Provincial Chapter from March 13 to 24 in the community of Ramos Mejía, Buenos Aires. The motto was “Oblates, women pilgrims of hope.” Twenty-seven capitulars and one sister who participated as an auditor participated in the Assembly. In addition to the sisters from the countries that make up the province, Sister Marisa Arreba, General Consultor, and Sister Lourdes Perramon, Superior General, who presided over this Chapter, also arrived from Spain.

We are pleased to announce the names of the sisters, along with the priorities of the new team of the Most Holy Redeemer Province, elected on March 23 at the Fifth Provincial Chapter, held in Buenos Aires.

The Provincial Team is composed as follows:

Provincial Superior: Mirta Sánchez.
First Council and Vicar: Lucia Alves.
Second Council and Secretary: Sirley da Silva.
Third Council: Noelia Ramirez.
Fourth Council: Dionisia González.
Provincial Treasurer: María Florinda Fiorese.

The priorities that will drive the life of the Province over the next three years are:

Charismatic dimension

Provide formation that considers the different ways of connecting to the charism within the Oblate family and encourage and strengthen the PVO (Vocational Promotions of Oblates), which considers the different vocational (life) options, strengthening the focus on Oblate consecrated life.

Animation and government dimension

Advance strategies for a concrete vision and management of a comprehensive and supportive Provincial Economy; make decisions based on the discernment process undertaken thus far as a provincial body, and strengthen shared leadership and implement a coordinated leadership structure, with greater dialogue and each assuming the responsibilities of their role/functions.

Communities and projects dimension

Nurturing fraternity and relationships by revitalizing Consecrated and lay life; caring for and accompanying the sisters and communities in this process of provincial and congregational transformation; and greater coordination in networking among provincial projects, fostering attention to emerging realities. Seeking financial support is also a priority.
