The Conference of Asia-Oceania held its Finance Meeting from March 25-29 in Minburi, Bangkok, Thailand. Organized by the General Government, the gathering was led by Fr. Gerry O’Connor, C.Ss.R., an expert in finance and accounting from Ireland. The meeting brought together Provincials, Vicars representing their Provincials in their absence, and Treasurers from all 13 units of the Asia-Oceania Conference.

The primary objective of this gathering was to deepen participants’ understanding of Redemptorist financial management and to support leaders and treasurers in effectively implementing the Finance Manual within their respective units. Fr. Gerry guided the participants through key aspects of the Redemptorist Finance Manual, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of financial principles and best practices.

The first two days of the meeting were attended by both unit superiors and treasurers, focusing on broader financial principles and leadership responsibilities. The remaining three days were primarily dedicated to unit treasurers, emphasizing the practical implementation of financial policies and procedures. However, unit superiors were still welcome to participate in these sessions.

This meeting provided valuable insights and practical strategies for financial management within Redemptorist communities, reinforcing transparency, sustainability, and responsible stewardship of resources.

Fr. Jittapol Plangklang, C.Ss.R.
