The Vice-Province of West Africa organized a popular mission for the Most Holy Redeemer parish of Lèna in the Archdiocese of Bobo-Dioulasso. It was 25-30 March 2025.

Bobo Dioulasso is located in the south-western part of Burkina Faso. Bobo Dioulasso is the economic capital of Burkina Faso.

Lèna is a rural commune, located in the province of Houet and in the region of Hauts-Bassins in Burkina Faso. It is in this village, located 44 km from the city of Bobo-Dioulasso that the Sons of Saint Alphonse de Liguori have chosen to stay for six days, in order to further awaken faith in Jesus Christ and restore dynamism, fervor, conviction, to the Christian faithful of the Most Holy Redeemer parish of Lena in their lived faith in Jesus Christ.

The Most Holy Redeemer parish of Lèna was created on 8 July 2016, and entrusted with the administration of the Redemptorist Missionaries of the West African Vice-Province. After nearly nine years of journeying with the Redeemer, the Missionaries have decided to revisit with the Christian faithful whom they are charged with revisiting the experience of faith in Jesus Christ in this portion of the area of the Archdiocese of Bobo-Dioulasso.

On 25 March 2025, the team of missionaries dedicated to this popular mission took the road to Bobo-Dioulasso from Ouagadougou, the political capital of Burkina Faso. They were welcomed in Lèna on the evening of Tuesday, March 25, 2025. This team of Redemptorist Missionary Fathers and a lay associate, member of the Archconfraternity of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was joined by another team of lay associates to the Redemptorists of the Vice Province: FLAR (Fraternity of Lay Associates to the Redemptorists) and the League of Saint Alphonse (L-SA) on March 26, 2025.

Being welcomed in Léna, the Missionaries proceeded on the same evening of March 25 to launch the popular mission. With about 30 members, on 26 March, the Missionaries were divided into 6 groups in order to be able to travel through the four corners of the parish territory, so as to meet the people, Christians and non-Christians. The Missionaries interacted with the people through activities such as visits to the sick and elderly, Eucharistic celebrations, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, catechesis, the sacrament of reconciliation. According to the testimony of the missionaries, the people were in admiration and presented signs that make it clear that they had to know and meet Jesus.

The Missionaries, to mark their passage in Léna, fixed a large cross, called the mission cross.

On Sunday, March 30, 2025, the closing mass and thanksgiving to the Lord took place. It was chaired by the Chancellor of the Archdiocese who represented the Archbishop, Mgr Laurent DABIRE. Abbé Lucien NANAMA at the end of the celebration wished that this popular mission be a renewal for the Christian faithful of Léna.
