(Mumbai, India) The Third Vice-Provincial Chapter of the V. Province of Majella was held from the 5th to the 11th November at the Pilar Animation Centre at Pilar in Goa. The 5th of November was a day of Retreat preached by Fr. M. A. Joseph of the Bangalore Province, a confrere who is visually impaired (totally blind). He preached on our woundedness and our call to be Witnesses of the Redeemer in Solidarity for the mission to a wounded world.
The chapter re-elected Fr. Joseph Ivel Mendanha as Vice-Provincial, Fr Henry Fernandes as Vicar, Fr. Anthony Lopez as 2nd Ordinary Consultor and Frs. Melroy Correa and Rakesh Mathias as extra Ordinary Consultors.
The chapter also passed some important resolutions to reiterate the Vice Province’s primary Missionary Priority as Migrant People and so to continue the missionary work in Migrant Ministry, to strengthen the existing projects in Migrant Ministry as well as set up a social service center for this important ministry. The Chapter also voted to start the process of becoming a Province.
