Jubilee Year of St. Clement Hofbauer 2020/2021
Information to the Redemptorist Family about the resources.
Dear Confreres, Sisters and Partners in Mission,
With his letter dated February 2, 2020, the Superior General, Fr. Michael Brehl, announced a Jubilee Year to mark the 200th anniversary of the death of St. Clement. The Jubilee Year will begin with the Feast of St. Clement this year, March 15, 2020, and conclude with his Feast on March 15, 2021.
To coordinate and animate the celebration of the Jubilee Year the General Government established a commission, consisting of Fr. Piotr Chyła (chair), Fr. Gianni Congiu, Fr. Adam Owczarski, Fr. Johannes Römelt, Fr. Cristian Bueno and Fr. Grzegorz Ruszaj. The Commission has been tasked to provide information and materials to animate the celebration, while at the same time seek contributions from the entire Congregation. To date, as a Commission, we offer you the following:
- The Communication Office of the General Government has set up a website to communicate special events relating to the celebration of the Jubilee Year and to provide material relevant to the life and legacy of St. Clement. You can access the website at cssr.news/sanclemente.We ask the Units to provide all information about special events, publications, and so on in relation to the Jubilee to the Communication Office: scalanewscssr@gmail.com.
- As a contribution to the celebration of this Jubilee Year, monthly reflections, similar in style to the “One Body” reflections, will be sent to all Units of the congregation. Fourteen (14) texts are to be published from February 2020 to March 2021, written by authors from the entire Redemptorist family worldwide. The texts will be provided in the official languages of the Congregation: English, Spanish and Italian.The texts will be sent out at the beginning of each month by the Center for Redemptorist Spirituality (fr.chyla@gmail.com)
St. Clement was a creative and powerful missionary, attentive to the needs of his time.
May the celebration of the Jubilee Year animate us, the Redemptorist Family, in following the example of St. Clement by continuing to preach the Gospel ever anew in today’s world.
