Balay ni Inay: Natatanging Pagkalinga sa mga Kababaihan
(Caring for Women in Our Mother’s Home)
Devotees come to seek refuge and intercession through our Mother of Perpetual Help. And many of these devotees are mothers themselves, daughters to their parents, wives to their husbands, friends to many, and play a lot more roles in the community they belong to. The common thing – simply being a woman – compassionate, devoted, a handmaid of God. And these qualities make her a silent agent of conversion within one’s family and in society. With all her strength and vulnerabilities, International Women’s Day is celebrated to recognize a woman’s unique role every day. She is not easily discouraged nor frightened, for she believes in the Mother’s Prayer to her Son.
During the one-day campaign informing the general public about women’s rights and the Magna Carta for Women, Migrants Center supported the activity in assisting OFW/Migrant workers over their concerns with their employers. Skills Training and Alternative Learning System is offered to those seeking informal education to improve their quality of life. Volunteers from the Women’s Program helped distribute flyers and rosaries during the entire campaign. A special prayer is offered in every novena to acknowledge a woman’s strength and weakness.
#WomenMakeChange. With Mary as the first role model of being gentle yet firm, we follow her example. Women are capable of change. Women are advocates of change.
