The Season of Creation is the annual Christian celebration to listen and respond together to the cry of Creation. Christians around the world join together to pray and take initiatives for the protection of our Common Home, God’s Oikos (Gk). It begins on September 1 with the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation and ends on October 4, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology beloved by many Christian denominations.
This year we will join this celebration as a Church with the theme “Listen to the voice of creation”. For the Redemptorist Family, which is celebrating the canonical phase of its General Chapter during the month of September, this also presents to us as a Congregation an opportunity to not only pray and take action to help us heal our wounded world but also to reimagine our Redemptorist charism in the face of the current ecological crisis. Therefore, the Season of Creation is an opportunity for the entire Redemptorist Family to listen to the voices of the most abandoned and the cry of the Earth within the rich interreligious and interdisciplinary sharing of this celebration.
May this Season of Creation celebrated within the framework of the canonical phase of the XXVI General Chapter inspire us to continue proclaiming the plentiful Redemption of Christ to the wounded world!
