Environment, immigration, war and social justice. These are the topics addressed by the former President of the Council of Ministers and of the European Commission Romano Prodi this evening in Sant’Agata de’ Goti during the meeting on the “Charter of Sant’Agata de’ Goti” organized by the “Mila – Itinerant Museum of the Alphonsian Places” with the diocese of Cerreto Sannita and the “iCare” social cooperative.
That of Romano Prodi was the last of the speeches planned at the conference hosted by the cathedral of Sant’Agata, packed for the occasion, and opened by the introductions of Don Matteo Prodi, president of “iCare”, director of the Diocesan School of Social Engagement -Politician from Cerreto Sannita and nephew of the former prime minister.
Among the speakers were also Professor Filomena Sacco, Father Maikel Pablo Dalbem and the bishop of the diocese of Cerreto Sannita Giuseppe Mazzafaro who was entrusted with the conclusions.
All the interventions were centred on the figure of Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori, whose thought was in fact inspired by the declaration on usury and international debt which bears the name of “Charter of Saint Agatha”, the subject of this evening’s conference.
