On Tuesday, 5th of March, the training process of the Initial stage of formation began at the House of San Gerardo, located in Cotuí, Dominican Republic. This is a significant moment for our community as it marks the beginning of a period of growth and discernment for those who have answered the call to follow Christ as Redemptorist missionaries.
However, we regret to inform that due to immigration problems, some of our Haitian brothers could not join the group on this occasion. We recognize the importance of diversity and inclusion in our community and hope to resolve these difficulties so that all members can fully participate in the training process in the future.
The group that is currently participating in the Introductory year is made up of four committed and enthusiastic young people: David Corado and Samuel Cardoza, both from El Salvador; Martín Poche, from the Dominican Republic; and Raúl Ruiloba, from Panama. These young people will be accompanied and guided by the Formators Fritz Abellard Thomas, C.Ss.R. and Ramón O. Coto Gómez, C.Ss.R., who will play a fundamental role in their spiritual and vocational growth during this time of formation.
In this moment of beginning and hope, we raise our prayers of gratitude to God for continuing to pour out his grace on our Province and for continuing to call young people willing to dedicate their lives to the service of those most in need as Redemptorist missionaries. We also pray for the perseverance and discernment of these young people so that they can faithfully follow the path that God has laid out for them.
May this time of formation be fruitful and enriching for all participants, and may it strengthen our community in its mission to proclaim the love and redemption of Christ in the world.
