Vice-Province of Matadi celebrated 125 years of Redemptorist missionary presence in the Congo

On Friday, May 31st, Father General Rogério Gomes blessed the chapel of the Prepostulat in Mbanza-Ngungu/Vice Province of Matadi. He presided over his first Mass in Congo, concelebrated by some superiors of Provinces that sent redemptorist missionaries years ago to Africa and gave origin to contemporary Unities of Africa and Madagascar. They celebrated together with confreres from the Vice-Province and Lay Redemptoristes from Zimbabwe.

On Saturday, June 1st, Father General welcomed Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo at the Centre Saint Gerard of Kola in Mbanza-Ngungu, Democratic Republic of Congo.

On Sunday, June 2nd, Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo, Archbishop of Kinshasa, presided over the Mass of the close of the Jubilee of 125 years of the Redemptorist presence in Congo.
