The Formees’ Gathering—2024 of the Liguori Province was held from 26 May to 30 May at RRC, Vadavathoor, Kerala. This was the 21st gathering of all those in formation since it began in 2003. There were 35 formees from the first stage of formation to the last, the Pastoral Year.

It was, without doubt, a time of special grace to experience unity and togetherness among the formees through various activities such as input sessions on different relevant topics by two qualified resource persons, indoor and outdoor games, organized recreations, common prayer, etc., which, indeed, helped foster a great sense of bonding among them. Besides these activities, a few other important events added much colour to the gathering.

On the third day of the gathering, Fr. Dipu Taitharayil, who completed the pastoral year programme, was commissioned by Fr. Poly Kannampuzha, our provincial superior, during the evening prayer. The five newly ordained priests of the province were also initiated into the pastoral year programme.

Final Profession

The following day was another significant event that brought immense joy to the Liguori Province. Three of our young men, namely Bros. Joe Paul Pullan, Jinto Mundackal and Akhil Thalachira, made their final commitment by professing the three evangelical counsels. During the solemn Holy Qurbana, they pledged their commitment to God kneeling before the Provincial Superior.

Confreres from different communities, as well as parents and relatives of those who professed final vows, were also present during the ceremony. It was a moment of great rejoicing for the members of Liguori Province.

We congratulate them and pray that they remain steadfast in their call to be missionaries of hope.
