It was the 21st time teams of altar boys from Polish Redemptorist parishes met at the Soccer Tournament for the Provincial’s Cup. This time, it took place in Tuchów, 15-17 June. Over 120 boys from Toruń, Wrocław, Głogów, Piotrków Trybunalski, Kraków, Lubaszowa and Tuchów took part in this year’s meeting—a total of 15 teams in different age categories: younger altar boys, altar boys and lectors.
The games lasted from 10 am to 4 pm. The last match was, as always, an honorary match between the winning lector team and the Redemptorist fathers. After a fierce fight that ended in a draw, the Fathers defeated the tournament winners in a penalty shootout with a score of 1-0. Among the participants, we also chose the “top scorer” and the “best goalkeeper” in each category.
We thank the Redemptorists and young people for participating in the Tournament, the Center for Redemptorist Youth Ministry and Vocations and the Confreres from Tuchów for hosting us and organizing this Tournament.
