The 64th traditional celebration of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, held at the Sanctuary of Perpetual Help in Curitiba (PR), attracted more than 100,000 faithful and devotees during ten days of celebrations. The event, which began on June 18 and lasted until the 27th, included a series of religious and solidarity activities, strengthening faith and devotion.
The novena, held in preparation for the patronal feast, brought a special blessing every night for different professional categories, such as health workers, educators and self-employed workers. In addition to the religious celebrations, the event was notable for the collection of non-perishable food and blankets to help the most vulnerable people in Curitiba, especially those living in the suburbs.
“During the novena, every night we blessed a category of professionals, such as health workers, self-employed workers and educators. We concluded on the 27th with a great act of solidarity. In addition to learning about Jesus’ message on evangelization, people showed solidarity by bringing non-perishable food and blankets to help the most vulnerable people in Curitiba, especially those living in the suburbs. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped us in this great work,” said Father Joaquim Parron, Redemptorist of the Shrine of Perpetual Help.
The highlight of the celebrations took place on June 27, the day of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. According to Father Parron, the program started early and was intense:
“The 27th was a very special day here at the shrine. We began with the Office of Our Lady at 6:00 a.m., followed by five solemn Masses dedicated to the Mother of Perpetual Help. There were rosaries, adoration, and at the end of the day, a luminous procession at 6:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Glory to the Shrine. We concluded with a special Mass at 7:30 p.m. It was a day of blessing, grace, and praise for Our Lady of Perpetual Help,” says Father Parron.

The novenas are held at 17 different times, from 6am to 10pm, and attract faithful from different parts of the city and the metropolitan region.
In addition to religious activities, the 64th Feast of the Patroness of Perpetual Help was characterized by a lively fellowship gathering, which offered typical food, the delicious Perpetua Burger and the traditional Patroness Cake, which brought the expected medallions. All proceeds from the celebrations will go towards the maintenance and social works of the sanctuary.
