Every year on August 1, according to tradition, the confreres of the Thailand province commemorate Saint Alfonso Maria de Ligouri, a Doctor of the Church and founder of the Redemptorist Congregation. He dedicated his life to proclaiming the Good News of God to the neglected and vulnerable in society, which was the beginning of the establishment of the religious order that works in the field of proclaiming the Good News and helping those in need and has continued to the present day.

The Redemptorist Congregation of Thailand has therefore organized a celebration to commemorate the blessings God has given to the Redemptorist Congregation from the past to the present, including the continuous sending of workers to join God’s work in the Congregation.

On this important occasion, four novices received the Congregational cross, which is a symbol of their commitment and following the Lord Jesus in their lives. Today, two brothers, Francis Prasong Theminphana and John Bosco Sukrit Lertlanglai, made their first vows after living and studying the rules and discipline of the Congregation for one year. They decided to give themselves to God in the Redemptorist Congregation to live according to the spirit that Saint Alphonsus has given to all members of the Redemptorist Congregation.

On the same day, there was a diaconate ordination of Br. Philip Nui Khamhu, CSsR. In order to perform important duties such as preaching and serving certain sacraments, Brother Philip was ordained a deacon by Bishop Paul Thawat Singhasa, Bishop of the Diocese of Nakhon Sawan. The ceremony was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church (Min Buri), which was attended by priests, members of the Congregation of the Redemptorists, religious and the faithful.
