“Joyful celebrations: Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish Marks a Major Milestone”
On 25 January 2025, Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, Anjal Nagar, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, celebrated its Golden Jubilee. To commemorate this mega event, a new multi-purpose Golden Jubilee Stage was built, and an Arch was erected at the entrance.
To celebrate the Golden Jubilee in a befitting manner, we organized a 3-day program from 24 to 26 January 2025.
The First day, 24 January, was celebrated as “Oppuravin Naal – a day of Retreat.”
The Second day, 25 January, was marked as “Uravin Naal – Jubilee Day.” The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Susaimanickam D.D., Emeritus Bishop of Sivagangai, and Rev. Fr. Edward Joseph CSsR, Provincial Superior of Bangalore Province. There were 60 Priests belonging to Redemptorists from different parts of India & Singapore, other Religious Orders and the Diocesan Clergy.
To mark the Jubilee, we released the Golden Jubilee Souvenir and a new Marian Hymn, and blessed and opened the newly constructed Golden Jubilee Stage and Arch. We also honoured parishioners who have lived in this parish for the past 50 years. We also honoured the couples who are celebrating their Silver, Golden Jubilee of married life. Furthermore, we took concrete steps to support poor children by sponsoring their education fees. The day ended with sumptuous and grand dinner. All the faithful participated in the fellowship meal.
The Third day was celebrated as “Nantriyin Naal – Thanksgiving Day.” The Holy Mass was celebrated by Redemptorist Confreres, thanking the Lord for the 50 years of His love and shepherding.
