Mere superlatives – spectacular, sensational, beyond impressive – don’t do justice to the Denver Province Jubilee Celebration. It was a celebration for the ages, befitting the milestone 150th anniversary of the Redemptorist missionaries spreading devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help throughout the world.

Redemptorist missionaries and faithful Catholics – a cross representation of ages and ethnicities from practically every state in the nation, as well as countless viewers worldwide – united with one purpose: to venerate Our Mother of Perpetual Help on June 27 at the historic St. Alphonsus “Rock” Church in St. Louis, the birthplace of the perpetual novena in the western USA nearly a century ago.

The Jubilee Celebration also launched a renewal of the Redemptorists’ commitment to preach the Gospel, especially using the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help to illustrate the mystery of redemption. Plans are to offer training on the symbolic meaning of the elements of redemption contained within the iconography as the Jubilee Missionary Icon and the historical exhibit travel around the Denver Province to Redemptorist ministry sites through June 2017.
