The Social Center of Redemptorists Fathers, at Castelo Branco (Portugal), celebrated its 38th anniversary on Sunday, January 15. It was a beautiful celebration that began with the Sunday Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Fatima and ended with a party, an appetiser in the institution and launch of balloons. One of the events of the celebration was the march through some streets of the city Albicastrense, a march that was attended by students, teachers, parents, friends and employees of this popular institution.

Recalling that 38 years is not only a number, but a long way, Father Jose Sanches, the main responsible person of the institution, said that the social center currently includes the College of Our Lady of the Rosary and children’s asylum. “The center is not the walls, but the people and especially the children who attend the center”, he said at the beginning of Sunday’s Eucharistic celebration.

“If we want to know how many are we today, said Father Jose Sanches, we will see that we work here with 500 children and there are 121 employees, and these numbers are very significant.”

“Not everything has been good during these years, we had also some storms, but never at the limit of losing the soul, because we are not perfect .. only God is perfect. We have flaws but we never lack goodwill, we know what we want and What we are doing “.

For the future, he made it clear that the goal is to continue, continue to grow, as far as possible and increasingly efficient.
