Belém: The first interprovincial youth mission of the Redemptorist youth JUMIRE

(Belém, Brazil) – The first interprovincial youth mission of the Redemptorist youth (JUMIRE) with the theme “Youth in Mission, Announcing Plentiful Redemption for a wounded world” took place from 12 to 18 February in the Parish of Our Mother Mother of Perpetual Help in Belém (PA). The event brought together young people from different regions of the country. A priest and five members of JUMIRE represented the Province of Rio.

With the lively presence of a large number of young people, the closing Mass was presided over by Fr. Fábio Pascoal, C.Ss.R. of the Province of Goiás in the courtyard of the Sanctuary. He spoke about the “challenges of living the signs of the Kingdom of God in a wounded world. Wounds that JUMIRE could perceive during their stay with the communities and some that the young have brought of their reality; it is possible to be healed, redeemed “.

Father Rogério Gomes, C.Ss.R. (General Consultor) and Father Edezio Borges, C.Ss.R. (president of the Union of Redemptorists of Brazil) offered words of encouragement. Special thanks were given to Fr. Márcio Halmenschlager, rector and parish priest, for the reception and the space given to the young. “A very important precedent for our parishes to be able to count on the strength of young people who can help to revive communities through their commitment and work”, said the parish priest.
